Bsafe: an innovation to promote user safety and the environmental protection

BERTHOUD was rewarded for its research and development work in the area of user safety and environmental protection at the 2015 SIMA Innovation Awards.
Given that the preparation phase for spray mixtures represents a major contamination stage, Bsafe is a secure device that allows users to add plant protection mixtures to the sprayer directly from the original product containers, and then clean them efficiently.
The various products are added and the containers fully rinsed with no contact with the user or the surrounding environment.

Bsafe: the complementary protection solution during spray mixture preparation

Spray mixture preparation covers 84% of all contamination, and it is during this phase that there is the highest risk as it is the only time when user come into direct contact with the concentrated product. To limit contamination risks, the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is now recommended. Bsafe adds to these tools and thus eliminates the known risks of contamination and pollution: contaminated container foil seal, risk of spillage after opening the container, product inhalation, splashes on the operator and around the hopper, splashes when rinsing the container.


 

 

Facilitates safe operation

The system, which requires manual operation, comprises four separate parts: an adaptor handle, a rinsing lance, a venturi and two quick couplings.

It has been designed to be connected to all machines equipped with a mixing hopper (venturi), while giving the operator the option to continue using this mixing hopper. This system can be fitted to new sprayers or machines already in service, and sets itself apart thanks to its ease of use, its ergonomics and its adaptability to the majority of product containers available on the market.
