The EKTAR B3 boom has a folding 3-arm boom in aluminium for complete compactness. It is fitted with a sturdy and compact “POMMIER” arm structure and pendulo-axiale suspension. Axiale suspension enables remarkable vertical stability, especially on turns, and a very good performance on sloping terrain thanks to its central pivot suspension system. As for pendular suspension, this provides very good performance on rutted flat terrain and enables the boom to be maintained horizontal. Changing from axiale to pendulo-axiale is done in the cab using the pendular control lock.
The EKTAR B3 boom has an L-shaped boom structure, which protects the hoses, nozzle holders and nozzles, and the arm ends can be folded in 3 dimensions. It is also fitted with an anti-whiplash system on both the mobile frame and on the cylinders that unfold the main arms. Based on double rod cylinders with nitrogen gas cylinder accumulators, it optimise the control of whip effect in particular on this 3-arm boom structure.
The boom is fitted with a slope correction and variable geometry system as standard. Controlling the boom movements is done by electric controls (ED) in the cab. The slope control and variable geometries reset is fitted as standard
