BOOM CONTROL: direct your spray as close as possible to your target area

Boom Control is a system that regulates the height of the boom. This system allows you to maintain the same boom height whatever the layout of the terrain.
The regulation is controlled by ultrasonic height sensors which transmit information to a control unit that direct the boom's actuators as needed according to the programmed height. 

BERTHOUD's automatic height regulation system (BOOM CONTROL) helps to increase your comfort while driving and improves the efficiency of your treatments by working closer to the target area, while significantly reducing drift (source Arvalis: from 80 cm to 50 cm - drift reduction from 20% - 10%). 

This option is available on all of our machines equipped with electro-distributors. 

This equipment is available in 3 versions: Slant Control (controls slope height), Total Control (controls boom height and variable geometries), Active Roll (controls boom height, variable geometries and slope).                

 

SLANT CONTROL version

The SLANT CONTROL version controls the boom height and slant automatically.

This version is designed for sprayers with booms of up to 28 m, sprayers operating on relatively flat terrain and sprayers which aren't equipped with variable geometries. It is composed of two ultrasonic sensors which are mounted on the boom.

 

TOTAL CONTROL version

The TOTAL CONTROL version controls the height and variable geometries.

This version of BOOM CONTROL is designed for booms over 28 m which are equipped with variable geometries and for hilly terrain. The TOTAL CONTROL system consists of three ultrasonic sensors mounted on the boom and two incline sensors fitted to the central area.

 

ACTIVE ROLL version

The ACTIVE ROLL version controls the height, the slope corrector and variable geometries.

Particularly suitable for hilly plots and large booms. The kit includes three ultrasound sensors (one for each arm and a central unit), two inclination sensors, a sensor for the slope and two proportional hydraulic blocks (one for the variable geometries and one for the slope). This version is available on all booms measuring 36 metres and over in the range.
